Hedman Partners, one of the leading start-up ecosphere legal advisers in Estonia, was proud to sponsor the Prototron startup funding program on Tallinn Innovation Day last week. The four finalists, who will share 5000 EUR worth of professional legal advice from Hedman Partners, include Shaperize, Saunum, Genosity and Shipitwise.
The winners received financial support from the other sponsors to continue developing their ideas over the next 3-6 months. Shaperize received 5700 EUR for developing a new extruder system that would reuse old plastic material as 3D-printable material quickly and cheaply. Saunum received 5000 EUR for developing a fully-automated sauna device that distributes the heat in a sauna more evenly and adds salt ions into the air. Genosity received 7000 EUR for developing an affordable genetic research device to allow school students to study their own genes in science classes.
Prototron was founded by Swedbank, Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol and Tallinn Technical University to support aspiring entrepreneurs and inventors in building their first working prototypes. The Prototron program has thus far received over 1100 smart ideas and more than 345 000 euros have been invested in 29 projects in total.
