Managing Partner Merlin Salvik is appointed as the Officer of International Bar Association’s (IBA) European Regional Forum (ERF).
Notably, her role is to inform all ERF members about the activities of the officers and council; to promote the IBA and the ERF in the European jurisdictions. Also, to communicate with the young lawyer’s liaison officer to identify ways and initiatives to enhance young lawyers’ membership.
ERF was established in 1989 to provide a focus originally on the work undertaken by the IBA in developing the practice under changing legal systems of lawyers in Eastern and Central Europe. The goals of the forum include addressing current and long-term needs of professional organizations and individual members within the geographical reach of the forum, as well as increasing membership and participation in the IBA and integrating them within the organization. The forum has a particular focus on cross-disciplinary activities.
Since 2004, the Forum has been developing and strengthening the existence of the IBA within Europe by promoting its goals to both members and non-members, advertising professional know-how, and assisting committees and other constituencies of the IBA.
