Estonian green technology startup Jälle Technologies raised €2 million

Hedman Law Firm assisted Jälle Technologies OÜ in raising a €2M pre-seed investment from several investors to advance its mission of transforming end-of-life lithium-ion batteries into critical raw materials. The research and development originated at the National Institute of Chemical Physics and Biophysics, with the aim of commercialising IP developed within the institute.

Jälle is an Estonian startup that delivers advanced recycling solutions to recover critical battery materials, reduce waste, and enable a truly circular economy for energy storage. Its proprietary processes transform used batteries into reusable metals and graphene-like materials.

By turning waste into value, the company supports Europe’s green transition and strengthens supply-chain resilience.

This investment will help Jälle Technologies to expand production, validate its proprietary technology at scale, and grow its team in Estonia.

The client was advised by Associate Partner Kati Pino and Associate Brigitta Jõgi.

We drafted the investment documentation, navigated the requirements of specialised investors and intellectual-property ownership, and managed relationships with higher-education institutions.
