Hedman attorneys successfully represented a client in a defamation dispute

Hedman represented a client in a defamation dispute in which the court upheld the client’s claim in full.

The dispute concerned false statements made at a meeting of the Pärnu City Council, which violated the client’s rights. The court thoroughly considered both the client’s claim and the opposing party’s objections and found that the client’s rights had been violated.

The court awarded the client €2,000 in compensation for non-material damage, €1,921.30 in compensation for material damage, and €18,604.91 in procedural costs. In addition, the court ordered the opposing party to retract their false statements. The judgment has not yet entered into force.
