Hedman represented a client in a cross-border inheritance and co-ownership dispute concerning the ownership of an inherited immovable property.

The client had inherited the property, but it became clear that the deceased and their former spouse had not divided their joint property. The matter was further complicated by the fact that the former spouse had been living in Russia for several decades.

To achieve the client’s objective, several interconnected issues had to be resolved. These included arranging the service of procedural documents abroad, filing a claim with the court, communicating with the former spouse’s representative, formalising a notarised agreement for the transfer of a legacy, and negotiating fair compensation.
