Hedman Partners advised New York-based CartoDB in acquiring Nutiteq

Hedman Partners advised New York-based CartoDB in acquiring Nutiteq, an Estonia-based mobile mapping software development company with more than 15 million unique installations of their software development kit and a roster of clients that includes SeatGeek, LonelyPlanet, iRobot, Accenture and Boeing among others.

The acquisition will give CartoDB a big opportunity to rethink interaction with location data on mobile devices. Nutiteq will be merged into CartoDB’s mobile division, which will be headed by Nutiteq’s CEO Jaak Laineste.

CartoDB is a world-leading company for location intelligence, data analysis and visualisation allowing organisations and individuals to extract insights from location data.

Hedman Partners was represented by partner Merlin Seeman and IP attorney Toomas Seppel.

CartoDB COO Miguel Arias: “Hedman Partners expertise and professionalism during the whole process helped greatly to navigate the challenges of a cross-border acquisition. Merlin and Valter went the extra mile to analyze the risks, point out the relevant red-flags and give us the relevant advise under Estonian law”.
