Hedman Partners sponsored the Garage48 e-residence hackathon

Estonia is the world leader in the use of digital identity and has opened the digital identification platform for e-residents. Garage48 invited 100 enthusiasts to the tiny Estonian island of Vormsi to chisel out working prototypes for simplifying e-services in just 48 hours. Hedman Partners was proud to be one of the main sponsors of the event, with attorney Toomas Seppel acting as a mentor and member of the distinguished jury.

The teams managed to produce 10+2 working prototypes during the fun-filled weekend and the winner turned out to be team Instavisa, who’ll receive tickets to the SLUSH and Latitude59 conferences along with 1000 euros worth of legal services from Hedman Partners. Instavisa aims to use the e-residency infrastructure to compile the information needed for a Schengen visa application to provide a hassle-free service to gain visas to Estonia and the EU.

Runners-up included EResNetwork, aiming to bring together the e-residents in a social network and IDID.EE, which is the easiest solution for implementing e-ID login for any website requiring authentication.
